LINCOLN, England — Russian Elena Milakova broke women's world waterskiing records in overall points and jumping during the 2001 European Tournament Championships in late July at the Hazelwood Ski World.

Milakova's overall score of 2688.5 points on Saturday, July 28 bested her previous world record of 2683 points, which she set earlier this summer at McCormick International in Sefner, Fla. That afternoon, she also tied her own jump record of 175 feet.

During the finals Sunday, July 29, she broke her own points record with a score of 2854.01 points. She also set a new world record (pending verification) in Jumping, with a leap of 181 feet.

Milakova was towed to her records by a Malibu Response. Malibu Boats and Mercedes Benz were the official event vehicles of the 2001 European Tournament Championships.
